The first ascent of the route “Mousounitsa ridge” (AD+, 400m) was realized in 2001 by D. Bourazanis - A. Karapetakos under winter conditions and on 28/10/2002 by D. Karalis - D. Aivazidis under summer conditions.
The line follows the rock ridge, which actually characterizes the area of Skorda Mousounitsas and which is found to the right of the couloir “Korre - Sotiraki”. In order to approach the beginning of the ridge, one should get to Profitis Ilias and from there go up in the direction of the refuge and then traverse to the left toward the couloir “Chatzirvasani - Adamakopoulou”.
The route offers a beautiful climbing experience, with view of the surrounding massifs and Athanasios Diakos’ village. Continuously uphill, without in-between abseils, the route moves very pleasantly until the peak of Skorda. In about the middle of the route and to the left, there is an impressive roomy cave. This line is a very good alternative way to get to Korakas’ top and the nearby climbing routes quickly.
In order to repeat this climb, one should be equipped with a set of nuts and slings, while it would do no harm to have a hummer and a few pitons in the rucksack, just in case.
