Petra Perachoras is an impressive crag located at the western edge of Mount Geraneia, near the village of Perachora.
Climbing activity in the area dates back to 1948. On June 20, 1971, a route rated V, 180m was established by Th. Terzis and P. Kymouris of the Athens Mountaineering Association. Much later, in 2018, the route “Dukes’ of Hazard” (VI, 70 m) was opened by D. Rasidakis and N. Floros, starting from the base and using exclusively traditional gear.
Access to the crag is via the Perachora - Schinos provincial road, heading toward Pisia. From there, turn right toward the chapel of Agios Georgios, continue along a forest dirt road, and then follow stone cairns that mark the path to the base of the cliff. This approach route was established by climbers from Patras during their repeated visits to the crag.
