Dirfi - Kotroni

Rock, Traditional, Sport

The crag of Kotroni or Kampia.

The Kotroni crag is located south of the village of Kampia, which is why it is also known as the Kampia crag.

The first routes were established in 1979 by Thanasis Avramopoulos, Dimitris Korres and Giorgos Soulas. These routes were traditional, with natural (removable) protection. In the following years, the crag was used extensively by the SEO Athens club, when many new traditional routes were established.

The crag is located at an altitude of 700m and has a north orientation, which is why it is suitable for climbing mainly in the summer, since it is quite cold in the winter. The traditional routes have no permanent bolts at all and offer beautiful climbing on dihedrals, chimneys, cracks and slabs.

Apart from climbing, the area also offers the opportunity for many other mountain activities such as hiking, mountaineering, cycling and canyoning. In the village of Kampia there is a cafe and taverns.

To access the area, we follow the route Chalkida - Nea Artaki - Kato Steni - Kampia and after Kampia we climb a dirt road heading southeast, to the field.
